For the Indian people, Indian Flag has great significance.it signifies the struggle it took for India to get independence. It also serves as the symbol of Unity and religion "The Indian People are All One".The Indian national flag was designed by Pingali  Venkayya the Indian freedom fighter, who lived from 1876 to 1963.
Before the British occupied India. India used to be made up of different princely states each with their own flags this changed after the revolt of 1857 the British introduced a flag to represent their territory and that flag was used from 1858 to 1947.
